About the Role
You will erect structural steel and install miscellaneous metals, pipe racks, support steel, and equipment supports at construction sites. You will rig and set structural members, complete bolting and welding, read drawings and erection plans, coordinate with other construction crews, follow safety rules, and support inspection, punch-list, and turnover activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of ironworking experience or equivalent military structural or rigging experience
- Ability to read structural and erection drawings and work to AISC connection details
- Proficiency with structural bolt-up, cutting, aerial lifts, ladders, and material-handling equipment
- Willingness to work at heights, outdoors, and on changing construction sites
- Current OSHA 10 or equivalent training
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends
- Ability to travel extensively to construction sites and remain onsite during peak construction phases
- Ability to climb ladders and structural steel, lift moderate to heavy loads, and wear PPE for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Erect structural steel for supercomputer halls, mechanical plants, substations, cooling yards, and site buildings
- Install stairs, ladders, platforms, catwalks, grating, handrails, embeds, and equipment frames
- Fabricate and install pipe racks, aerial galleries, mezzanines, and support steel
- Rig, hoist, and set structural members and heavy equipment-support steel
- Bolt, torque, weld, and plumb connections to drawings and standards
- Read structural drawings, erection plans, and shop drawings
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical crews
- Follow fall-protection, crane, rigging, hot-work, LOTO, PPE, and permit rules
- Support inspection, punch-list, and turnover work
