About the Role

You will advise high-growth, technology-driven businesses on raising private capital to fund their expansion. You will target and close new engagements, lead the execution of private capital raises end-to-end, and act as a trusted day-to-day advisor to founders, management teams, and investors. You will pitch private capital markets capabilities, execute in-depth analyses for complex transactions, direct financial and valuation work by junior staff, opine on transaction structuring, and build lasting relationships across the European investor ecosystem. You will also train and mentor analysts and associates, review their work, and help build the culture and infrastructure of a newly established team based in Amsterdam.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Prior investment banking, growth equity, venture or private capital markets experience required; 3+ years at Associate level strongly preferred
• Demonstrable experience raising private capital for growth-stage businesses strongly preferred
• Genuine passion for technology, innovation and disruptive business models
• First-hand experience modelling cap tables including waterfall analyses of complex preference rights
• Complete FCA Level 3 exams within 90 days and SIE Exam and Series 79 within 150 days of commencing employment (UK and EU only)
• Detail oriented with deep analytical abilities
• Superior mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and senior banker expectations simultaneously
• Effective leadership and coaching skills
• Expertise in accounting and finance, and comfort valuing high-growth, capital-intensive businesses
• Travel required: approximately 20 to 40%

Responsibilities

• Assist in targeting, originating and closing new private capital raising opportunities with focus on growth-stage technology businesses
• Pitch Private Capital Markets capabilities to founders and investors
• Lead and execute private capital transactions end-to-end, including growth equity raises, recapitalisations, private placements and structured equity
• Build and maintain relationships with the private capital investor universe and act as day-to-day client contact
• Suggest innovative approaches for due diligence, research and analysis and proactively identify deal issues
• Review analyst and associate work for consistency, correctness and formatting
• Provide thought leadership to streamline processes and improve team performance
• Act as lead on-the-job trainer for associates and analysts, providing feedback and guidance
• Help build the culture and infrastructure of a new team, participating in recruiting and training
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
