About Alpen

About the Role
Lead infrastructure security and reliability across production, staging, and testing environments for Bitcoin and Layer 2 systems, including nodes, backend services, zk-prover systems, monitoring, load balancing, upgrades, and incident response.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience managing blockchain infrastructure and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of Bitcoin and Layer 2 solutions
- Experience architecting or operating zk-prover or zero-knowledge proof infrastructure
- Proficiency with monitoring tools and load balancing techniques
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate in a remote team environment
Responsibilities
- Lead the infrastructure team with a focus on security and reliability
- Oversee testing, staging, and production environments
- Maintain availability of Layer 2 nodes, Bitcoin full nodes, sequencers, provers, and backend services
- Architect scalable zk-prover systems for varying workloads
- Implement load balancing for RPC requests and block explorers
- Develop monitoring solutions, performance metrics, dashboards, and alerting
- Ensure correctness and security of system upgrade protocols
- Coordinate security alerts and incident response with stakeholders
