About the Role
As Human Resources Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for Wave Cameroon employees' onboarding, compliance, and other human resources requests. You'll collaborate with the entire People team and other departments to ensure a great employee experience and business continuity. You'll manage onboarding, maintain employee records, support audits, assist with payroll preparation, and help with employee exits.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in English and French
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience in human resource management
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, social studies, or equivalent; further HR training will be a plus
- Good knowledge of HR functions (employee integration, employee experience, payroll and benefits, recruitment, compliance, training and development)
- Great understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of all human resources functions
- Manage end-to-end onboarding process for new hires across new markets, from offer acceptance through first-day integration
- Collect, verify, and file all pre-employment documentation in line with local legal requirements
- Set up and update employee records in HRIS at the point of hire, ensuring data accuracy after every onboarding batch
- Coordinate onboarding schedules with Talent, hiring managers, payroll, IT and any relevant stakeholders
- Conduct or facilitate induction sessions covering Culture and Values, Internal Regulation, Code of Conduct, and company policies
- Track probation period end dates and collaborate with payroll team for relevant actions
- Create and maintain onboarding checklists tailored to each country's regulatory requirements
- Help improve employee experience
- Provide strategic and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager
- Maintain and regularly update employee files to ensure completeness and audit-readiness
- Support periodic HR audits by organising and providing required documentation within agreed deadlines
- Compile and update employee records in hard copy, soft copy, and HRIS
- Process documentation and prepare reports related to staff activities
- Ensure human resources compliance with internal and country legislation
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant supporting data to the Payroll team
- Ensure compliance in the relationship with interim firms
- Coordinate human resources projects and assist the broader People team as required
- Assist in managing employee exits including exit interview coordination, offboarding checklist completion, and timely HRIS updates
