About the Role
You will lead Luno's global OTC desks and manage principal traders across several markets. You will oversee trading activity, risk limits, trade execution, settlements, records, and desk profitability. You will develop OTC, corporate hedging, revenue-liquidation, crypto, and FX strategies; provide global reporting; improve trading and risk systems; grow desk flow; and build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of trading experience at a sell-side OTC desk, market maker, prop desk, or brokerage
- 3–5 years of experience managing traders or trading teams
- P&L responsibility based on trade and counter-trade within trading limits
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Successful broking or OTC trading track record across more than one market
- Compliance with regulatory standards and ethical trading practices
- Strong attention to detail in trade execution and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of traders
- Ensure trading activity remains within defined strategies, credit limits, operating limits, and working-capital allocations
- Oversee trade disputes, execution, settlements, and accurate trade and P&L records
- Own aggregate desk P&L and risk-adjusted P&L against targets and risk limits
- Execute trades to hedge market risk and liquidate revenue
- Agree and develop trading strategies for OTC, corporate hedging, revenue liquidation, crypto, FX, derivatives, arbitrage, and warehousing
- Provide global reporting on trading activity, performance, and market insight
- Identify opportunities to expand desk flow and profitability
- Improve trading and risk systems, processes, automation, and risk frameworks
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and desk clients
