About the Role

You will serve as the strategic Compliance Executive for the Group, leading UK regulatory operations while spearheading the compliance framework for the global product and markets roadmap. This is a unique dual-mandate role where you will ensure full regulatory adherence of the two regulated UK entities while driving global compliance strategy for products and new licences across the business. You'll need deep expertise in UK regulation (FCA) for payments and e-money institutions, combined with a proactive approach to embedding compliance into the global product development lifecycle and regulatory expansion.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience within FCA-regulated payments, e-money, crypto, or banking sectors
  • At least 3-5 years in a senior leadership or Head of Compliance capacity
  • Proven ability to act as a force multiplier for executive leadership, managing cross-functional strategic initiatives
  • Expert-level knowledge of PSRs, EMRs, the FCA handbook, and safeguarding rules
  • Deep interest in the evolving crypto asset sector and global regulatory frontier
  • Expert-level understanding of UK AML, CTF, and Sanctions regulations
  • Experience drafting policy and debating compliance strategy with senior leadership
  • Experience providing 2nd line advisory for product development and global expansion
  • Experience in hands-on regulatory engagement with the FCA
  • Relevant professional certifications in Compliance (e.g., ICA, ACAMS)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic Compliance lead globally and for UK regulated entities BCB Payments UK Ltd and BCB Markets UK Ltd
  • Take full ownership of regulatory affairs, licensing, and direct engagement with the FCA
  • Oversee second line monitoring, safeguarding, and internal audit findings remediation
  • Provide global Compliance Advisory on product development, governance, and expansion into new jurisdictions and licences
  • Partner with Product teams to embed compliance controls into the development lifecycle from day zero
  • Conduct gap analyses and risk assessments for new jurisdictions and product approvals
  • Oversee horizon scanning for regulatory changes
  • Provide Compliance advice to business stakeholders and represent Compliance in internal committees and working groups
  • Strengthen the compliance framework and embed a culture of compliance across the firm
  • Provide regular reporting on UK compliance risks, regulatory changes, and remedial actions to the UK Board and governance committees
  • Create and develop compliance management information (MI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
