About the Role

You will develop and maintain the compliance framework in line with FCA requirements, act as the primary contact with regulators, and ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting. You will provide regulatory advice to senior management and the Board, construct and review compliance policies and procedures, and implement horizon scanning. You will oversee agent and distributor relationships, maintain enterprise risk registers, manage SARs, and perform compliance monitoring, testing and assurance. You will advise on KYB/KYC standards, support breach management and remediation, and deliver compliance advisory support across product and engineering to ensure governance is embedded in product development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in regulatory, law enforcement, e-money, payment services, crypto, consultancy or retail banking environments
  • Experience at Senior Manager, Deputy MLRO or Head of Compliance/MLRO level or readiness to step into Head of Compliance and MLRO role
  • Compliance generalist experience across policy and procedure development, risk assessment, assurance, advisory and oversight
  • Practical experience designing and implementing regulatory and financial crime compliance programmes including onboarding, CDD, transaction monitoring and screening
  • Ability to challenge business units and advise on solutions with strong attention to detail
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Fluency in English written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the compliance framework in accordance with FCA requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact with the FCA and other regulators
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting
  • Provide regulatory advice to senior management and the Board
  • Construct, review, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
  • Perform horizon scanning and communicate regulatory changes to stakeholders
  • Oversee agent and distributor relationships and controls
  • Maintain oversight of enterprise risk registers, incident reporting, and operational resilience
  • Conduct compliance reviews, monitoring, and surveillance
  • Manage the SAR process and suspicious activity reporting
  • Manage breach escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation
  • Implement risk-based monitoring and control testing for KYC, transaction monitoring, screening, and complaints
  • Provide KYB and client due diligence advisory and escalation support
  • Assist in developing and delivering compliance training
  • Support compliance operations including regulatory reporting, conflicts management, and quality assurance
