About the Role
You will design, test, bring up, and manufacture custom hardware, primarily PCBs. You will create schematics and layouts, run simulations, develop initial bring up code, validate high speed interfaces, debug issues, manage requirements, and own designs from concept through production. You will also coordinate with external vendors and improve latency, scale, and thermal performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Advanced ECAD skills with Altium Mentor Graphics Cadence or equivalent
- Signal and power integrity expertise
- End to end product development experience
- Experience with high speed interfaces such as PCIe USB and Ethernet
- Experience with low speed communications such as I2C SPI JTAG and USB
- Experience using TDRs and oscilloscopes for validation
- Python proficiency
Responsibilities
- Design and manufacture custom hardware primarily PCBs
- Create schematics and PCB layouts
- Run signal integrity and hardware simulations
- Develop initial hardware bring up code
- Interpret Eye Diagram and BERT results
- Create test plans and engineering requirements
- Validate high speed interfaces
- Debug hardware and production issues
- Research improvements to latency scale and thermals
- Own designs from concept through production
- Manage third party vendor relationships
