About the Role
You'll join the engineering team in Kuala Lumpur to build modern, scalable frontend interfaces and backend systems that deliver seamless experiences for game developers and players worldwide. You'll work across the stack, crafting responsive UIs with Next.js and TypeScript while also designing robust, scalable backend services with PHP and Yii. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver features from database to pixel, taking ownership of your work from design through implementation and delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with PHP
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with React, and TypeScript
- Solid knowledge of modern PHP and experience working with frameworks like Yii
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript/ES6+, HTML5, CSS3, and Web APIs
- Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and query optimization
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile collaboration tools
- Comfortable writing tests — unit, integration, and end-to-end (e.g., PHPUnit, Jest, Cypress)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP
- Build modern, responsive web interfaces using Next.js, React, and TypeScript
- Translate product designs and user stories into high-quality, functional features end-to-end
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code across the full stack
- Design and optimize database schemas and queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Implement effective state management strategies and integrate frontend with REST/GraphQL APIs
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and UX inconsistencies across the stack
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers
- Contribute to planning, estimation, and delivery tracking of new features
