About the Role
You will design, install, validate, and maintain X-BAT flight-test instrumentation and data-acquisition systems. You will configure sensors and telemetry, verify data integrity, troubleshoot issues, maintain records and inventories, collaborate on test requirements, and support remote test deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering
- 10–15+ years of flight-test instrumentation, data acquisition, or hardware integration experience
- Experience installing and configuring sensors, DAQs, wiring harnesses, and telemetry systems
- Knowledge of instrumentation standards, signal conditioning, sampling theory, and data synchronization
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and system architectures
- Proficiency with NI, Dewesoft, HBM, ICS, or telemetry systems
- Troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Ability to support extended travel and remote test deployments
Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and maintain flight-test instrumentation systems
- Develop instrumentation architectures, sensor plans, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation
- Install and calibrate sensors
- Configure and validate data-acquisition systems
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight data checks
- Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and implement corrective actions
- Define instrumentation requirements and safety considerations with flight-test teams
- Manage instrumentation inventory, spares, tools, and calibration records
- Support field deployments and test operations
- Improve instrumentation processes and documentation
