About the Role
You will lead the Fleet Software team and set technical direction for provisioning, configuration, updates, recovery, telemetry, and monitoring. You will support customer deployments, improve fleet reliability from deployment lessons and incidents, and stay hands-on through reviews, code contributions, and debugging.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including leading projects or managing engineers.
- Experience building infrastructure software and owning it in production.
- Experience with fleet management, provisioning, configuration, or observability for compute infrastructure or connected devices.
- Distributed systems and Linux fundamentals.
- Coding and debugging skills.
- Experience setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and delivering work across teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Fleet Software team, set priorities, hire and mentor engineers, and establish ownership.
- Set the architecture and roadmap for fleet provisioning, configuration, updates, and recovery.
- Establish safe software and firmware rollout practices, including validation, staged deployment, and partial-failure handling.
- Guide telemetry and log-pipeline design, including storage, retention, and query performance.
- Lead development of monitoring, alerting, and analysis tools.
- Define hardware-management interfaces and validated configurations with Node Systems.
- Support customer environments through local monitoring and telemetry analysis.
- Turn deployment and incident lessons into engineering priorities.
- Contribute to design reviews, code, and hands-on debugging.
