About the Role
You will review customer and transaction activity to identify patterns and suspicious behavior. You will investigate unusual activity that may indicate money laundering or terrorism financing, collect supporting documentation, and escalate confirmed or suspicious matches to senior compliance staff. You will determine compliance with BSA, the US PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements, validate post-onboarding documentation, and document findings using spreadsheets, databases, and dashboards while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- One to three years of experience in transaction monitoring profile exceptions rule-based flags or real-time monitoring or a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts (education may substitute one year of experience)
- Proficiency in English
- Proficient in spreadsheet database and dashboard tools and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail planning and organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects and follow through to completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively with people at all levels
Responsibilities
- Monitor customer and commercial account profile exceptions and rule-based flags
- Determine whether activity complies with BSA US PATRIOT Act and OFAC regulations
- Investigate unusual activity and potential money laundering or terrorism financing patterns
- Collect and document supporting evidence for investigations
- Escalate flag dispositions and investigation conclusions to the Assistant Compliance Officer
- Escalate OFAC and confirmed financial crime matches to the Senior FIU Compliance Analyst
- Review and validate that onboarded accounts have submitted required documents
