About the Role
You will review fire suppression detection and life-safety designs across data center projects. You will coordinate permitting with authorities and insurer requirements integrate fire protection with other systems support acceptance testing and maintain standards for evolving facility hazards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience for data centers industrial or mission-critical facilities
- PE in Fire Protection Engineering strongly preferred or an FPE degree with a PE path
- Knowledge of NFPA 13 72 75 76 2001 and 855
- Knowledge of FM Global data sheets as applied to data centers
- Direct experience managing AHJ plan review and acceptance testing to approval
- Experience coordinating with insurers with FM Global strongly preferred
- Understanding of detection and suppression integration with BMS electrical shutdown and mechanical sequences
- Familiarity with liquid cooling and battery energy storage fire protection
- Ability to cover multiple concurrent projects across jurisdictions
- Willingness to travel periodically for acceptance tests and FM visits
Responsibilities
- Review suppression and detection designs for code and FM Global compliance
- Coordinate fire protection permitting plan reviews variances and inspections with AHJs
- Manage FM Global plan reviews data sheet compliance and field visits
- Integrate fire protection systems with mechanical electrical and controls systems
- Support acceptance testing integrated testing and punch-item closure
- Maintain fire protection standards specifications and typical details
