About the Role

You will shoot and edit cinematic, character-led customer-story films. You will influence pre-production, lead production and post-production, build and manage an equipment kit, create social cutdowns, and explain creative decisions to cross-functional partners. You will work independently on shoots and direct small lighting and sound crews when needed.

Requirements

• Have 5+ years of film production experience across commercial and documentary-style work.
• Shoot independently and own both camera work and post-production editing.
• Demonstrate character-driven work in a reel.
• Have a background in indie filmmaking, post-production houses, or film-focused production houses.
• Apply a strong editorial eye and edit your own work.
• Create social-cut formats from longer documentary content.
• Draw out the value customers receive while creating compelling narratives.
• Work independently on shoots and direct a small lighting and sound crew when necessary.
• Use AI editing and post-production tools, including Descript, Runway, and Adobe AI.
• Travel frequently for on-location shoots.
• Be based in New York City, or in San Francisco with the ability to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit entertaining, cinematic customer-story films.
• Influence pre-production and own production, including scouting, shot lists, pre-interviews, camera work, lighting, on-set direction, rough cuts, and final delivery.
• Build, specify, source, and manage the New York City equipment kit.
• Create social derivative cuts from every shoot for paid, organic, and sales content.
• Communicate and liaise with cross-functional partners to explain creative decisions and edits.
