About the Role
You will lead fiber-optic installation projects, mentor technicians, conduct inspections, troubleshoot and repair complex fiber systems, perform splicing, maintain signal strength, and improve technical records and system designs.
Requirements
- 4+ years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber in large-scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities
- Previous experience leading or mentoring fiber-optic technicians
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Fiber Technicians
- Manage data-center fiber-optic installation projects from planning through handover
- Ensure safe, productive, high-quality work
- Develop sensor indicators and conduct inspections
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install complex fiber-optic systems
- Replace faulty or aging fiber-optic cables
- Organize maintenance routines
- Lead fiber-splicing activities
- Monitor and maintain signal strength
- Maintain system records, documentation, and designs
- Provide technical guidance, training, and quality assurance
