About the Role
You will lead fiber technicians and oversee fiber optic installation, maintenance, testing, repair, documentation, and optimization. You will maintain reliable data center connectivity, coordinate projects with other trades, and provide technical training and quality assurance.
Requirements
- 2+ years of direct data center optical-fiber installation, certification, and maintenance experience
- 1+ years leading or supervising fiber optic teams
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Ability to work in tight quarters
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet
- Availability for evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Fiber Technicians
- Oversee fiber optic project planning, execution, testing, handover, and documentation
- Ensure safe, productive, high-quality, and compliant fiber work
- Develop inspection protocols and preventive maintenance routines
- Direct fiber troubleshooting, repair, splicing, and installation
- Manage fiber cable inspection, replacement, and optimization
- Monitor signal strength and system performance
- Maintain system records, as-built drawings, and design updates
- Coordinate work with project managers, superintendents, and trades
- Provide technical guidance, training, performance feedback, and quality assurance
