About the Role
Financial Technology Partners is seeking an Equity Research Vice President to lead coverage of information services, FinTech software, payroll software, and remittance companies. The role combines financial modeling, valuation, forecasting, thematic analysis, client interaction, research writing, and team mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or CFA designation or candidacy preferred.
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership and sector expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, accounting, and valuation methodologies.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, or similar platforms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex data.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, self-starter attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance culture.
- Strong interest in and knowledge of the FinTech ecosystem.
- SIE, Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 exams passed or willingness to obtain them promptly upon hire.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Lead coverage of companies and subsectors within information services, FinTech software, and payroll software.
- Build and maintain financial models, including earnings forecasts, valuations, and scenario planning.
- Conduct company and sector research using public filings, proprietary data, and third-party sources.
- Analyze market, competitive, and regulatory trends.
- Author research reports, investment recommendations, and thematic pieces.
- Communicate investment ideas to institutional clients, internal stakeholders, and sales and trading teams.
- Prepare materials for client meetings, industry events, roadshows, and conferences.
- Handle client inquiries and relationship management.
- Mentor, train, and review junior Research Analysts.
- Collaborate with investment banking while maintaining research independence.
- Help shape the equity research strategy and product suite.
