About the Role
You will commission, qualify, and maintain thin-film deposition and vacuum equipment. You will develop specifications and qualification protocols, troubleshoot hardware failures, support vendors and procurement, document equipment systems, establish data pipelines, and improve equipment reliability and uptime.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with vacuum systems in a semiconductor, nanofabrication, or advanced-materials setting
- Expertise in high-vacuum system operation and deposition hardware
- Experience with plasma sources, gas delivery, and thermal management
- Experience integrating characterization and metrology into process equipment
Responsibilities
- Commission deposition systems and integrate characterization and metrology tools
- Establish equipment specifications, acceptance criteria, and qualification protocols
- Diagnose and resolve vacuum, hardware, and process-equipment failures
- Support vendor communication, tool selection, bid evaluation, and technical negotiation
- Create equipment documentation, SOPs, strategies, and technical reports
- Establish equipment data pipelines for AI training infrastructure
- Monitor equipment performance and improve reliability and uptime
- Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate failure resolution with vendors
