About the Role
You will lead a Kubernetes engineering squad while remaining hands-on with architecture and difficult implementation work. You will design and ship the control plane, including scheduling, operators, provisioning, and node lifecycle. You will own its reliability, automate the path from bare metal to on-demand clusters, set priorities with product partners, and manage hiring, feedback, performance, growth, and team processes.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of people leadership experience
- Production Go experience
- Kubernetes operations and development experience
- Linux experience
- GPU workload experience on Kubernetes or ability to own the domain
- Backend or infrastructure systems experience
- Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams
Responsibilities
- Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane
- Own architecture and implementation decisions for scheduling, operators, provisioning, and node lifecycle
- Develop and coach engineers
- Own Kubernetes control-plane reliability
- Automate cluster provisioning from bare metal to on-demand availability
- Partner with Product Managers on priorities and tradeoffs
- Manage hiring, performance, growth paths, and feedback
- Define team processes and execution rituals
