About the Role

You will lead and directly manage a cross-functional product engineering team. You will partner with a Product Manager, own delivery quality, stability, timelines, dependencies, technical excellence, and architecture. You will improve team performance using DORA metrics, support engineers’ growth and wellbeing, and divide your time between design, coding, and coaching.

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of experience building server-side applications
  • Have detailed knowledge of Java
  • Know a backend framework such as Spring or Spring Boot
  • Have experience running microservices and implementing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Have experience engineering scalable, reliable solutions in a cloud-native environment
  • Deliver secure, well-tested, and well-documented software
  • Own code and technical solutions throughout their lifecycle, from development to production
  • Have experience integrating third-party providers and partners
  • Have experience with relational databases
  • Work effectively in an agile environment
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Apply continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices
  • Lead teams and directly manage people

Responsibilities

  • Lead and directly manage a cross-functional team
  • Partner with a Product Manager to form the Product Engineering Duo
  • Own team delivery, including quality, stability, timelines, and dependencies
  • Own technical excellence and architecture within the team’s scope
  • Drive continuous improvement in team performance using DORA metrics
  • Support the continuous growth and wellbeing of engineers
  • Contribute hands-on through design and coding
  • Coach team members and advise on difficult technical problems
