About the Role
You will lead seven backend and mobile engineers across Lithuania and Bulgaria. You will set technical direction for reliable payment systems manage SLOs on-call practice and incident response partner with product and compliance stakeholders and develop engineers at every level.
Requirements
- Meaningful engineering management experience
- Backend engineering foundation in a strongly typed language
- Experience leading distributed remote-first teams across time zones
- Cross-functional experience with product senior leadership and non-engineering stakeholders
- Fintech or banking domain experience
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering SLOs observability and event-driven systems
- Experience with Java or a similar strongly typed language
- Event-driven and asynchronous systems experience
- Relational database engineering at scale
- Microservices experience in a cloud-native environment
- AWS experience
Responsibilities
- Lead seven backend and mobile engineers
- Set engineering direction for reliability correctness observability and architecture
- Own system stability SLOs on-call practice and incident response
- Partner with Product on compliant payment systems
- Develop engineers at every level
- Align with other Engineering Managers on shared infrastructure
- Engage with backend architecture and production problems
