  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of professional experience, or a master's degree with 4+ years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing engineers
  • Machine learning and computer vision knowledge, including 3D geometry, model evaluation, uncertainty, and perception failure modes
  • Experience developing and deploying production machine learning systems
  • Experience with multitask learning, object detection, road and lane detection, or 3D occupancy estimation
  • Understanding of lidar sensing, including scan patterns, reflectance, FMCW lidar, and sensor time synchronization
  • Experience across data curation, model training, experimentation, evaluation, integration, and production validation
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch and practical C++ experience
  • Experience deploying and optimizing deep learning models with TensorRT
  • Understanding of embedded computing constraints for real-time perception systems
  • Experience planning machine learning projects and managing cross-functional dependencies
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop machine learning and software engineers
  • Set the technical direction, roadmap, and priorities for active-sensor perception
  • Own development and delivery of multitask lidar and radar perception models
  • Guide architecture and design decisions for sensor fusion, temporal modeling, and uncertainty estimation
  • Maintain perception performance across adverse conditions and sensor failures
  • Own delivery across the machine learning lifecycle
  • Ensure dataset quality and coverage across operating conditions and failure modes
  • Establish metrics, benchmarks, and failure-analysis practices
  • Review technical designs, models, experiments, and verification evidence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and safety teams
  • Track commitments and communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and staffing needs
  • Maintain engineering standards through reviews, reproducible experimentation, and release-readiness criteria
