About the Role

Support the strategic direction of threat detection while working hands-on with SIEM systems, log parsers, alert rules, log analysis, detection tuning, security automation, threat hunting, incident investigations, internal tools, and security incident response.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Splunk, Scanner, Sentinel, or SecOps
  • Understanding of modern attack and defence techniques
  • Understanding of AWS and GCP security
  • Understanding of Google Workspace and Okta security
  • Understanding of Windows and macOS security
  • Experience with security automation
  • Experience with SOAR platforms
  • Experience writing scripts and automation
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic vision for threat detection
  • Create custom SIEM log parsers
  • Configure alert rules
  • Perform log analysis
  • Tune detections to reduce false positives
  • Create security automations and services
  • Hunt sophisticated threats across infrastructure
  • Monitor and respond to threats across AWS, GCP, internal applications, and endpoints
  • Develop business-specific threat detection rules
  • Ensure detection quality and ecosystem uptime
  • Build and enhance internal threat detection tools
  • Lead complex incident investigations
  • Coordinate containment, remediation, and recovery
  • Support the security incident response on-call rota
