You will develop C++ and Python software, integrate simulation frameworks, deploy containerized systems, connect simulation to autonomy and test pipelines, and lead complex engineering delivery.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Extensive professional experience in software engineering and systems integration
- Strong modern C++ experience and familiarity with legacy C++ standards
- Professional Python experience
- Experience leading complex engineering or software projects
- Experience with real-time distributed simulation systems or HWIL/SWIL environments
- Experience with Docker or similar containerisation technologies
- Proficiency with Linux development environments
- Ability to obtain an Australian NV1 security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of distributed real-time simulation systems
- Architect and implement high-performance C++ software for modelling, simulation, integration, and interoperability
- Develop and optimize real-time distributed simulation software
- Integrate defence simulation frameworks such as AFSIM or NGTS
- Design and deliver containerized simulation deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
- Provide technical and project leadership to engineering contributors
- Connect simulation with autonomy algorithms, hardware interfaces, and automated test pipelines
- Drive improvements in CI/CD, test-driven development, software architecture, and simulation tooling
- Deliver validated and scalable simulation environments for customer programs
