About the Role
You will own the development, debugging, testing, and documentation of embedded Linux board-support packages for avionics systems. You will develop flight-quality software, support hardware bring-up, select software architectures, build tools, and deliver production-level software packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 4 years of experience developing, testing, and debugging embedded software systems
- Experience developing drivers, bootloaders, memory interfaces, kernel modules, userspace applications, and custom board-support packages for embedded Linux systems
- Experience with Yocto or OpenEmbedded
- Experience with C, C++, and Python or similar scripting languages
- Experience with configuration-management tools such as Git
- Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Own embedded Yocto board-support-package systems through their full development lifecycle
- Develop custom boot flows, recipes, software build pipelines, and embedded Linux software
- Test and debug hardware and software
- Own embedded Linux BSP codebases and contribute to shared codebases
- Perform design trade studies, select architectures, scope work, and implement embedded software
- Work with project managers and engineering teams to deliver software within budget and schedule
- Develop tools and documentation for embedded-system use and testing
