About the Role

The Director of Product Engineering will lead product engineering activities within Graphcore Manufacturing Operations, covering semiconductor, PCBA, board, blade, and rack-scale manufacturing and testing. The role includes team leadership, manufacturing analytics, yield improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and regular travel to OSATs and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor product, test, or manufacturing engineering.
• Proven people leadership experience, including cross-geography hiring and team building.
• Experience in high-volume semiconductor or electronics manufacturing, data visualization, and MES databases.
• Extensive understanding of semiconductor, PCBA, and system-level manufacturing and testing.
• Expertise in SPC, DOE, regression, hypothesis testing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Expertise analyzing and visualizing large manufacturing datasets.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, JMP, or similar data tools.
• Demonstrated success driving yield and cost improvements in high-volume production.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate clearly across the organization.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field.
• Extensive JMP and JMP scripting experience for analysis reports, dashboards, and applications.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Apache Superset.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, and manage a team of product engineers with semiconductor and PCBA manufacturing expertise.
• Drive yield, quality, and cost optimization across chip manufacturing, test, PCBA, and system-level manufacturing.
• Define coverage, reporting, and datalog requirements with test engineering for ATE and system-level electrical testing.
• Own analytics for SMT manufacturing processes including SPI, AOI, AXI, and ICT.
• Own analytics for board and system-level testing, including boundary scan and functional testing.
• Manage low-yield production events and drive overall yield improvement.
• Support RMA analysis and reliability and qualification activities.
• Establish best practices for manufacturing data collection, cleaning, correlation, and visualization.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics to develop data-loading scripts and optimize database schemas.
• Develop standard analyses and dashboards to enable self-service data access.
• Travel regularly to OSATs and manufacturing partners.
