About the Role
You will lead engagement with Congress and the executive branch to advance AI-policy priorities. You will build relationships with policymakers and agencies, identify legislative opportunities, draft and negotiate policy language, respond to regulatory actions, and organize briefings, hearings, and roundtables.
Requirements
- Deep relationships and established credibility with congressional and/or executive branch staff
- Strategic judgment
- Strong written communication
- Collaborative leadership
- 3–10+ years in federal government affairs, lobbying, senior Hill staff, or executive branch roles
- Strong knowledge of the legislative, appropriations, NDAA, and federal regulatory processes
- Background in policy, law, political science, or a related field
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and handle emergency or weekend requests
Responsibilities
- Execute the federal legislative strategy across both chambers
- Build and steward relationships with members, leadership offices, committee staff, and relevant agencies
- Identify legislative vehicles and opportunities to advance priorities
- Lead advocacy against federal preemption of state AI law
- Draft and negotiate bill text, amendments, and report language
- Organize briefings, hearing support, and roundtables
- Track and respond to regulatory actions, RFIs, and executive orders affecting AI policy
