About the Role
You will own and execute the data strategy, building reliable platforms, pipelines, governance, and infrastructure across investment, investor relations, operations, and compliance. You will unite data engineering, analytics, and architecture into one cohesive function, partner with Engineering and Product on AI and agentic capabilities, enable self-service reporting, guide architecture and design decisions, and represent data to executives and the Board. You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical contribution while embedding compliance, auditability, and data quality throughout the platform.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise in data engineering, AI, architecture, and pipelines
- Experience building or significantly evolving a modern data platform in a regulated financial services environment
- Understanding of compliance, auditability, and data quality at the architecture level
- Practical experience designing modern AI and agentic systems supported by data functions
- Experience leading or scaling a multidisciplinary data team
- Ability to work in pressured, high-ambiguity scale-up environments
- Ability to partner credibly with executives and cross-functional stakeholders
- Eligibility to live and work in London
Responsibilities
- Define and execute Moonfare’s data strategy
- Build platforms, pipelines, and governance for a reliable and scalable data foundation
- Unite data engineering, analytics, and architecture into one cohesive team
- Set the team’s operating model, rituals, and standards
- Architect and build infrastructure serving investment, investor relations, operations, and compliance use cases
- Partner with Engineering and Product on AI and agentic capabilities
- Enable self-service reporting and operational intelligence
- Lead architecture reviews and design decisions
- Evaluate pipeline trade-offs
- Represent data to executive stakeholders and the Board
- Embed compliance and regulatory thinking throughout the platform
