About the Role

You will own the delivery, performance, and growth of the Hedge Accounting managed services practice, spanning both FX and Interest Rate Risk management. You will lead a team of Derivative Accountants, run day-to-day operations including capacity forecasting, staffing decisions, and KPI tracking, and resolve client escalations. You will act as the final technical authority on hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, stepping into contested audit conversations and novel structuring questions. You will coach and develop managers, build a culture of accountability and technical rigor, and partner with Product, Implementation, Customer Success, Sales, and Renewal teams to shape the service and grow the client base.

Requirements

  • CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 8-10 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9
  • Experience spanning FX and Interest Rate risk management
  • 5+ years managing and developing accounting or finance teams, including managers
  • Experience running service-practice operations, including staffing, capacity planning, KPI tracking, workflow design, and delivery quality management
  • Deep technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9
  • Strong understanding of FX forwards, options, cross-currency swaps, interest rate swaps, caps, floors, and collars
  • Track record of designing and implementing process improvements
  • Hedge accounting platform experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting conclusions to non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage the day-to-day operating model for practice delivery across FX and Interest Rate programs
  • Lead Hedge Accounting Managers and Derivative Accountants delivering client engagements
  • Drive resource planning and capacity forecasting including client-level staffing and organizational planning
  • Set, track, and hold the team accountable for delivery KPIs
  • Identify and introduce technology that improves speed and accuracy of service delivery
  • Own hiring, organizational design, and workforce planning as the practice grows
  • Define and own the practice's strategy and methodology for advising clients on FX and Interest Rate hedge programs
  • Serve as the final escalation point for unresolved issues, discrepancies, and contested positions
  • Manage the Client Support and Solutions team
  • Set performance expectations and provide coaching and feedback to Managers and team members
  • Own the practice's technical position on ASC 815 and IFRS 9 across FX and Interest Rate risk management
  • Step into audit conversations personally when positions are contested or precedent-setting
  • Stay current on FASB and IASB developments affecting hedge accounting
  • Build trusted relationships with client treasury, accounting, and finance leadership
  • Partner with Product, Implementation, and Customer Success teams to inform platform capabilities and service design
  • Represent Managed Services in internal planning and reporting on portfolio health and growth
  • Partner with Sales and Renewal teams to drive customer growth and retention
