About the Role
Serve as the main IT contact for Graphcore's Taipei office, providing desktop and engineering support across operating systems, hardware, networks, applications, user administration, endpoint security, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Windows 11, macOS, and Linux.
- Desktop and laptop hardware troubleshooting, peripheral setup, printers, monitors, and docking stations.
- Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and VPN support.
- Application support for Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Slack.
- Active Directory and user management experience.
- Security awareness covering antivirus, encryption, and multi-factor authentication.
- Familiarity with AWS and Oracle cloud services.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams and managing change requests.
- Datacentre/comms room management experience.
- Essential travel between the office and third-party factory locations.
- Experience supporting remote functional teams as smart hands.
- Strong communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Microsoft certification, SCCM or other imaging tools, Ansible, Puppet, network infrastructure, network storage, VCS, documentation, and issue-tracking experience are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main IT liaison for the region across Windows, macOS, and Linux desktops and laptops.
- Deliver desktop support including hardware setup, software installation, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across operating systems, networks, and applications.
- Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot, improve, and document development workflows and toolchains.
- Support engineering software, compilers, IDEs, and version control systems.
- Manage user accounts, access, and permissions across corporate systems.
- Monitor system health, apply updates, and ensure endpoint security compliance.
- Escalate issues to global IT or vendor support when necessary.
- Train end-users on IT guidelines and new tools.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
