About the Role
You will lead end-to-end data-centre design for new-build, expansion, and retrofit projects. You will set technical standards, manage external consultants, review design packages, assess sites, resolve delivery issues, support commissioning, and improve regional design governance.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Building Services Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent
- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in mission-critical or complex infrastructure environments
- Experience leading multidisciplinary design for large-scale data-centre developments from concept through handover
- Knowledge of data-centre electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, EN 50600, ASHRAE, and local standards
- Ability to manage consultants, design reviews, milestones, budgets, and priorities
- Understanding of constructability, commissioning, operational readiness, and lifecycle maintenance
- Stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for data-centre projects
- Establish technical design strategies, standards, and criteria
- Manage external design consultants, architects, engineers, and vendors
- Review designs, specifications, drawings, and calculations for compliance
- Assess sites, utility capacity, planning constraints, constructability, and risks
- Resolve technical issues during project delivery
- Support commissioning and operational handover
- Improve design standards, reference designs, specifications, and governance
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship
- Support technical due diligence and customer technical discussions
