Datacenter Technician I

About the Role

You will ensure continuous 24x7 operation and security of critical datacenter infrastructure. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments; monitor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste systems; track and execute work orders; operate lifts and forklifts with required certification; perform basic network troubleshooting and IT infrastructure maintenance; lift equipment safely (up to 55 lbs); operate electrical breakers up to 480V; use internal software to record, diagnose, and manage hardware; communicate clearly with staff, vendors, and partners; and follow policies and procedures to maintain safe and reliable facility operations. You may travel up to 10% and undertake other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in information technology or equivalent certifications and job experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a critical infrastructure environment
  • Comfortable working with a team of technicians in a 24x7 operating environment
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting, HVAC, plumbing, construction, security, and fire protection preferred
  • Experience with IT infrastructure maintenance desired

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, construct, repair, and refurbish facilities and equipment
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure optimal building and equipment functioning
  • Monitor daily operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste systems
  • Track work orders for quality, service standards, and budget adherence
  • Obtain and maintain certifications for operating equipment such as forklifts and personal lifts
  • Communicate effectively with interdepartmental staff
  • Coordinate with third-party partners and vendors
  • Protect sensitive and confidential company and client information
  • Use ladders, step stools, power tools, and hand tools as required
  • Use internal software to track, record, communicate, diagnose, and operate hardware
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting, management, and installation
  • Lift and move equipment up to 55 pounds safely
  • Operate electrical breakers up to 480V
  • Perform other duties as assigned
