About the Role
The Data Center Electrician oversees and executes complex electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, inspections, and testing at data center facilities. The role includes project management, transformer work, diagnosing electrical issues, enforcing safety procedures, maintaining records, supervising electricians and technicians, and providing 24/7 on-call support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Apprentice Electrician License or higher, or a reciprocal Journeyman Electrician License recognized by Texas.
- Up-to-date certifications for the role.
- 3–5 years of electrical experience.
- Experience installing and maintaining low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Completion of an electrician program is preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, organize, multitask, and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle check.
- Reliable transportation to the designated work site.
- High-voltage experience and bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred or advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, and lighting systems.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure system functionality.
- Plan and manage electrical projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with other trades and contractors.
- Perform Dissolved Gas Analysis test preparation, infrared scans, and torquing work on pad-mounted transformers.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Coordinate with operations staff and facility managers on repairs and maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in commercial and industrial settings.
- Implement and enforce electrical safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Supervise electricians and technicians and provide 24/7 on-call support across facilities.
