About the Role
You will provide controls and automation expertise on a data center build. You will review designs, oversee vendors, verify installations, witness commissioning, validate turnover documentation and backups, train facility operations staff, and incorporate operational lessons into controls standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of controls programming, startup, and commissioning experience with complex systems, or a related bachelor's degree or trade certification plus 3+ years of controls industry experience
- Experience in critical environments and knowledge of critical-facility operations and procedure-based work
- Understanding of control-system design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and construction
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems in critical facilities
- Ability to read, evaluate, and test sequences of operations
- Experience interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and controls diagrams
- Experience with turnover documentation, programming backups, configuration files, and version control
- Ability to work with construction teams in a cross-functional environment
Responsibilities
- Review controls designs from an operations perspective
- Provide QA/QC oversight of controls scopes, vendor proposals, programming, configurations, upgrades, and factory tests
- Ensure controls modifications follow change control
- Verify controls installations during construction milestones
- Witness Level 3–5 commissioning, testing, failover, alarm verification, trend validation, and integrated systems testing
- Review programming and drive operational findings through closure
- Verify controls turnover packages, documentation, backups, licenses, credentials, spares, and PM inputs
- Confirm backups restore successfully
- Provide controls training and support to Facility Operations staff
- Incorporate operational lessons into controls standards and future project designs
