About the Role

You will independently negotiate and execute high volumes of pre-M&A contracts, liaising directly with counterparties against agreed service levels. You will serve as a trusted day-to-day contact for investment fund and asset manager clients, maintain client contract playbooks, mentor junior colleagues, improve legal technology tools, and manage each contract from review through execution and system logging.

Requirements

  • Be licensed to practise law in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, or Canada.
  • Have 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Have independently negotiated pre-M&A contracts in a financial services legal environment.
  • Build relationships with investment fund and asset manager clients and communicate legal advice clearly.
  • Balance legal risk against business objectives and flag issues early.
  • Be proficient with AI-backed contract review tools, HighQ, and CLM and e-signature systems.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and paralegals.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and execute high volumes of pre-M&A contracts, including NDAs, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters.
  • Liaise directly with counterparties against agreed service levels.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for investment fund and asset manager clients.
  • Maintain and evolve client-specific contract playbooks.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and paralegals and review their work.
  • Use and improve Carta Ava, HighQ, and other legal technology tools.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle from first review through execution and system logging.
