About the Role
The Construction Coordinator serves as Bitdeer's on-site Owner's Representative for data center and power plant construction, coordinating field execution and contractors while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, documentation, and Alberta standards are met.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in construction management, occupational health and safety, engineering technology, or a relevant journeyman trade certificate.
- 7–10+ years of field-based industrial construction experience in Alberta.
- Experience with safety management and QA/QC procedures on power, heavy industrial, or oil and gas sites.
- CSO or CSTS-20 certification and Standard First Aid.
- Training in hazard identification or QA/QC practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams.
- Knowledge of MS Project or Procore.
- CRSP or NCSO designation is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction execution against design, contractual quality, performance, and schedule requirements.
- Audit field safety compliance, lead toolbox talks, and enforce OH&S, LOTO, hot work, confined space, chemical handling, working-at-height, tool safety, and environmental procedures.
- Oversee subcontractor inspection test plans and perform field inspections against drawings and specifications.
- Manage quality check-sheets, non-conformance reports, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate weekly construction planning and meetings, process field RFIs, verify redline drawings, track submittals, and monitor SIMOPS.
- Inspect incoming equipment and materials and verify documentation, storage, preservation, and handling.
- Maintain construction logs, verify completed work quantities for progress billings, and assist with punch-list inspections and turnover packages.
