About the Role

You will negotiate hardware, component, software, technology, data, and partnership agreements. You will assess legal and regulatory risks, address trade and supply-chain concerns, create self-service legal resources and AI-assisted review tools, manage outside counsel, and provide practical guidance on technology and hardware transactions.

Requirements

• JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• Experience buying hardware, firmware, components, and software
• Experience leading complex technology, data licensing, joint-development, or supply agreements
• Knowledge of international supply chains and contract risks
• Knowledge of export controls, sanctions, tariffs, and customs
• Ability to communicate legal risk clearly to scientists, engineers, and operators
• Interest in AI and emerging hardware

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and close agreements for hardware and components
• Review embedded firmware and companion software licenses
• Structure and negotiate technology, data, and partnership agreements
• Track hardware legal and regulatory changes and explain their impact
• Identify trade, export-control, sanctions, and supply-chain concerns in cross-border sourcing
• Build and maintain self-service guidance, templates, and AI-assisted review tools
• Manage outside counsel for specialist questions and overflow work
• Support other technology and hardware transactions as needed
