Required and preferred rules are kept separate and reflect the wording in the original posting.
About the Role
You will conduct doctoral research on modelling TRISO particle coating by fluidized-bed chemical vapor deposition. You will review the literature, build and validate coupled CFD-DEM multiphysics models, analyse operating parameters, apply models to industrial cases, and document results in technical reports and scientific publications.
Requirements
- Engineering degree or Master 2 equivalent.
- Interest in numerical simulation and complex physical phenomena.
- Knowledge of modelling and numerical simulation.
- Programming experience in Python and finite-element code.
- Proficiency in office software.
- Written and spoken English for scientific publications and technical presentations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a literature review of FB-CVD deposition, particle-bed fluidization and TRISO-particle manufacturing.
- Develop a coupled CFD-DEM multiphysics numerical model of the FB-CVD process.
- Study the effect of operating parameters on bed behaviour.
- Identify key process parameters and propose optimal operating ranges.
- Validate model results with literature and available experimental data.
- Apply the model to representative industrial configurations.
- Document data, models and results in technical reports and scientific publications.
