About the Role
You will lead the financial function and advise the CEO and Board on strategy growth and risk. You will oversee planning reporting treasury compliance fundraising investor relations audits controls and risk management while supporting expansion M&A and regulatory obligations. You will also build the finance team and develop talent and succession plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field
- CPA(K) ACCA or CFA certification
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive finance experience
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Experience in financial services fintech banking or high-growth technology environments
- Proven experience in fundraising investor relations and strategic finance
- ICPACK membership and letter of good standing
- PCC
- CRB Certificate
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen
- Deep understanding of financial modeling and analysis
- Expertise in Kenyan regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- High integrity and sound judgment
- Ability to operate in fast-paced high-growth environments
- Experience with FX volatility and cross-border payments in Africa
- Exposure to digital financial services crypto or payments infrastructure
- Familiarity with tax optimization and regulatory engagement in emerging markets
- Experience with regional or pan-African organizations
Responsibilities
- Advise the CEO and Board on financial strategy growth and risk management
- Lead budgeting forecasting financial modeling and scenario planning
- Develop and track financial and operational KPIs
- Oversee IFRS-compliant financial statements and financial closing processes
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial integrity
- Present financial reports to the Board and investors
- Optimize cash flow working capital liquidity and capital allocation
- Manage banking relationships foreign exchange exposure hedging and multi-currency operations
- Ensure compliance with CBK CMA and KRA requirements
- Oversee tax planning filings statutory compliance and corporate governance
- Lead internal and external audit processes
- Lead equity debt and structured finance fundraising
- Manage investor relations and reporting
- Support M&A due diligence and deal structuring
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Oversee enterprise risk management and AML/CFT compliance
