About the Role
You will own the vehicle technical architecture, requirements, interfaces, margins, and performance allocations. You will lead vehicle development through qualification, testing, and deployment; resolve technical risks and design decisions; and partner with manufacturing, test, and operations to ensure the vehicle is safe, manufacturable, testable, and operable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline
- 15 years of engineering experience
- Technical leadership experience for a major component, subsystem, vehicle, or similarly integrated safety-critical system
- Experience adjudicating technical trade-offs and participating in Engineering Review Boards
- Knowledge of system architecture, requirements, and technical risk management
- Ability to translate customer needs and CONOPS into engineering architecture and detailed design
- Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Own vehicle technical architecture, design philosophy, requirements, interfaces, margins, and performance allocations
- Serve as the senior technical authority for design decisions, waivers, risks, and readiness
- Lead vehicle-level design and development through qualification, testing, and operational deployment
- Manage vehicle performance and technical margins
- Identify and retire technical risks through early testing
- Define development, qualification, and flight-test approaches
- Establish design standards and engineering rigor
- Partner with manufacturing, test, and operations to ensure designs are manufacturable, testable, and operable
