Requirements

  • You are a structured, detail-obsessed builder who is happiest turning a vague problem into a plan everyone can execute against.
  • You are based in or willing to relocate to New York. This role is hybrid (3 days/week in office) and not remote-eligible.
  • Detailed with a high degree of scrutiny. Detail-obsessed and resolute, you're the final checkpoint before work reaches the client — and you take that responsibility seriously.
  • A sharp analyst with real delivery reps. You have ~4–5 years owning requirements through testing, whether in consulting, advisory, implementation, or in-house product. Financial-services or fintech exposure is a plus, but the instinct for clarity matters most.
  • A craftsperson with requirements and specs. Requirements elicitation and validation, functional specs at the right altitude, use cases to test cases, UAT planning and defect triage, gap analysis and traceability.
  • Fluent driving AI workflows. You use AI to produce specs, docs, and test cases, and you have the editorial judgment to know when its output is wrong and how to get it to good.
  • Comfortable in front of clients. You build rapport quickly, speak the business's language, ask insightful questions, and can sit in a room with a sophisticated financial client without losing the thread.
  • High ownership in ambiguity. You operate with light-touch guidance, communicate clearly, are always looking to improve how things work, and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • A fast learner who thrives in complex domains. You leverage past experience to accelerate your learning curve in new markets, staying curious and ramping quickly on unfamiliar workflows.
  • Bonus - domain knowledge: Exposure to loan markets, credit operations, and products for major financial institutions are all a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Turn ambiguity into airtight requirements. Sit with clients and subject matter experts to pull messy, conflicting inputs into granular, testable requirements and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Own the spec. Write functional design specifications at the right level of detail, and ensure documentation serves both engineering execution (build/test) and durable, reusable resources as we overhaul the market.
  • Lead QA testing. Perform comprehensive issue, feature, and integration-level testing, ensuring quality and acceptance criteria are met and product is UAT-ready.
  • Guard quality. Stand up thorough test plans and UAT cycles, translate use cases into formal test cases, and run defect triage alongside engineering.
  • Design the experience. Work with design to create wireframes and mockups that show engineering exactly how an interface should look and behave.
  • Be in the room with clients. Join client calls and workshops, learn to speak their language, field and triage incoming support questions, and feed real feedback back into the product.
  • Make AI do the heavy lifting. Drive spec, doc, and test-case generation with AI, and bring the editorial judgment and user instincts that makes the output trustworthy.
