About the Role
You will conduct original research into how browser-based bots evade detection. You will develop and test hypotheses, validate detection signals against customer data, and provide the engineering team with build-ready ideas. You will work closely with Chromium, JavaScript, browser internals, and internet protocols while independently directing your research.
Requirements
- Be a Master's or PhD-level computer science student or recent graduate, or have equivalent depth
- Demonstrate programming ability and research instincts
- Understand bot detection and fraud strategies
- Know JavaScript internals and be comfortable learning Chromium internals and internet protocols
- Be able to independently investigate open-ended technical problems
Responsibilities
- Study how browser-based bots evade current detection using Chromium and JavaScript internals
- Form and test original hypotheses to develop new bot-detection signals and feature ideas
- Validate detection ideas against real customer data
- Provide the engineering team with detection signals they can build and ship
- Complete high-value projects outside the immediate scope of the role
