Blockchain Engineer
Harmony is an open blockchain network focused on data sharding, fast transaction finality, and decentralized applications. It supports tokens, smart contracts, cross-chain transfers, staking, and privacy-oriented zero-knowledge applications.
Projects
About Harmony ONE
Harmony operates a decentralized blockchain platform designed to scale digital economies through secure state sharding, proof-of-stake validation, and fast Byzantine-fault-tolerant consensus. Its ecosystem includes onchain products for token swapping, bridging, multisig custody, wallets, lending, and Telegram-based rewards, serving developers, validators, communities, and users building or using blockchain applications.
Skills
About the Role
You will design, implement, and maintain core blockchain components with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and decentralization. You will operate and tune a large public node network, manage on‑chain assets, and optimize system throughput and operational costs. You will profile and debug low-level systems, prototype research ideas, and coordinate asynchronously with distributed engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science specializing in kernel, data structures, or compilers
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year of startup experience
- Willingness to work a 60-hour work week and provide a daily 4-hour overlap with Pacific Time
- Exceptional communication and people skills
Responsibilities
- Develop blockchain infrastructure that ensures high security, scalability, and decentralization
- Operate and maintain a network of 1000 nodes and manage on-chain assets valued at $500,000,000
- Optimize systems to handle 100,000,000 requests per second while managing operational costs around $250,000 per month
