About the Role
You will architect and build scalable event-driven backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript on AWS. You will design and optimize real-time streaming pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis), lead projects from architecture through deployment and production monitoring, collaborate with Infrastructure, Product, and Data teams, and mentor engineers while defining backend architecture.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems in production
- Proven success with high-throughput, low-latency services in fintech, trading, or entertainment offerings
- Strong foundation in distributed systems design, cloud infrastructure, and data streaming
- Experience leading large projects or small teams, balancing shipping speed with long-term system integrity
- Collaborative, hands-on mindset with ownership and accountability
- Strong preference for gaming or entertainment industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable event-driven backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS
- Design and optimize real-time data pipelines leveraging Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent streaming technologies
- Lead end-to-end delivery from architecture and implementation to deployment and monitoring in production
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Product, and Data teams to solve complex challenges and accelerate delivery
- Set the technical vision for backend architecture, contribute to design reviews, and mentor other engineers
