About the Role
You will design and implement autonomous behaviours for uncrewed aircraft. You will build sensor-fusion solutions, develop and test autonomy systems in simulation, integrate systems with third-party aircraft, contribute to technical standards and design reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Aerospace, Robotics, or a related field
- Significant professional experience in robotics, autonomy, perception, or aerospace systems
- Strong experience with modern C++
- Significant experience building and delivering reliable software systems
- Experience with uncrewed systems is preferred
- Defense industry experience is preferred
- Experience in state estimation, real-time systems, guidance navigation and control, or path planning is preferred

- Design and implement autonomous behaviours for uncrewed aircraft
- Build robust sensor-fusion solutions using real sensor data
- Develop and test autonomy systems in software and hardware-in-the-loop simulations
- Integrate autonomy products with third-party aircraft and systems
- Collaborate across AI, robotics, and systems engineering
- Contribute to architecture, code quality, design reviews, and best practices
- Lead and mentor junior engineers
