About the Role
You will inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair Class 8 autonomous trucks. You will document maintenance and inventory, support truck operators, follow safety procedures, and collaborate on technical improvements and vehicle upgrades.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification or vocational training in automotive technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Technician or mechanic experience, preferably in automotive, heavy-duty trucking, or technology
- ASE certification is highly desirable
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex electrical and mechanical systems
- Truck maintenance and repair knowledge
- Autonomous driving technology knowledge, including sensors, cameras, GPS, and onboard computer systems
- Diagnostic tools, software, and vehicle-maintenance equipment proficiency
- Communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to travel
- Safety protocols and procedures knowledge
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the autonomous trucking fleet
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, sensor, and vehicle-system issues
- Perform repairs and replace faulty components according to work instructions, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and parts-inventory records
- Provide technical support to truck operators
- Collaborate on technical issue feedback, continuous improvement, and feature upgrades
- Stay current on autonomous-vehicle technology and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and policies
- Support the safety culture
