About the Role

You will support the engineering and design of new and existing transmission lines. You will prepare specifications, evaluate proposals, develop routing and support-system designs, perform calculations, assist with construction management, coordinate suppliers and contractors, support storm restoration, and maintain design standards and project documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge with engineers and non-technical coworkers
  • Ability to exchange information with project management, system operations, planning, accounting, testing, and support areas
  • Ability to present facts based on knowledge or research and complete assignments

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering assignments using planning and organizational skills
  • Perform engineering calculations for transmission line support systems
  • Assist with planning, design, and construction management of transmission line projects
  • Assist with root cause failure analysis
  • Maintain transmission design standards and information systems
  • Support storm teams and system operations to restore service
  • Procure transmission line structures and equipment with suppliers
  • Coordinate with planning, contractors, maintenance groups, and technical groups
  • Provide field construction support
  • Assist with project closeout and property classification
