About the Role
You will source and procure mechanical commodities, obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate commercial terms, manage purchase orders and supplier performance, partner on engineering requirements, support product introductions, resolve supply-chain issues, maintain ERP data, and identify cost and lead-time improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 3+ years of purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management experience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense
- Mechanical commodity sourcing experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing specifications
- Experience obtaining supplier quotations, negotiating pricing and lead times, and managing purchase orders
- Understanding of CNC machining, welding, fabrication, finishing, and assembly
- Organizational and analytical skills
- Communication and collaboration skills
- ERP/MRP systems experience
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
Responsibilities
- Source and procure mechanical commodities
- Solicit supplier quotations and evaluate pricing and lead times
- Negotiate commercial terms and execute purchase orders
- Manage supplier relationships and escalate performance issues
- Review drawings, specifications, bills of material, and engineering changes with Engineering
- Support supplier quotes, prototype builds, and material readiness for new product introductions
- Resolve supply-chain issues and expedite critical hardware
- Track supplier commitments and communicate production risks
- Support supplier qualification, First Article Inspection, and quality requirements
- Maintain supplier, pricing, lead-time, and purchasing data in ERP
- Identify cost savings, lead-time improvements, and process efficiencies
