About the Role
You will own sourcing for mechanical manufacturing categories, including steel, fabrications, cooling components, and mechanical assemblies. You will secure supply and lead-time commitments, technically qualify suppliers with engineering, and negotiate multi-year agreements that protect price and priority as volumes grow.
Requirements
- Experience sourcing mechanical or fabricated categories for a manufacturer and owning supplier relationships
- Ability to read drawings and specifications and challenge quotes line by line
- Experience qualifying suppliers under time pressure
- Experience securing capacity in constrained markets
- Ability to manage suppliers using on-time delivery, PPM, and lead-time performance data
- Knowledge of steel and fabrication markets
- Knowledge of cooling and thermal components
- Should-cost modeling
- Supplier development
