About the Role
You will join the Healthcare AI Team as a pre-MBA Associate, helping drive the investment process end-to-end across deals from Series A to Growth Equity. You will dig into research-driven sourcing to identify promising healthcare investment opportunities, study markets and sector trends, and follow AI developments in healthcare. You'll evaluate incoming investment materials and lead key pieces of diligence, including audit, tax, legal, and detailed financial modeling. You will also support portfolio companies directly, tapping into the firm's and BCG's networks to connect them with high-value customer targets. This role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office.
Requirements
- Passion for disruptive technology
- 1-3+ years of relevant work experience strongly preferred (e.g., investment banking on a healthcare team or work on a finance or BD team in an operating role)
- Undergraduate degree in economics, data science, biology, biomedical engineering, engineering with biology, or biochemistry highly desired
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Prior VC/PE investing experience not required, but a plus; finance experience highly desired
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco
- Hybrid work required (3 days in SF office)
- Experience distilling ideas and insights into clean, digestible formats required
- Experience with detailed financial modeling, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, as well as quantitative market research required
- Exposure to venture capital math skills such as cap table and returns modeling is a plus
Responsibilities
- Develop market research and investment theses to guide sourcing efforts
- Source new investment opportunities based on investment themes and research
- Follow AI trends in healthcare
- Evaluate and assess the viability of investment materials received from potential companies
- Lead key pieces of diligence on investment opportunities and deal processes such as audit, tax, legal, and financial modeling
- Deliver high-touch support to portfolio companies across a number of operating areas
- Utilize the firm's and BCG's networks to connect companies with high value customer targets
